DESCRIPTION:Students will learn to prepare a gourd for the application of Inlace (a 2-part resin)\, how to mix and apply the Inlace will be reviewed\, and finally\, how to carve in a design. SUMMARY:Torching Your Gourd
DESCRIPTION:Prior to torching their gourd students will carve a silhouette and then will work with a micro torch to burn their gourd and gourd piece with and without designs.  To finish\, students will hand polish the gourd and complete the silhouette with gold leafing.    Students should have some knowledge of working with rotary tools as this is not a carving class.      Students need to bring:  Dremel* or Dremel-like rotary tool\, any burs you have\, dust mask\, 2” rotary sander such as the Microlux**          * Instructor has one to use if needed  ** These and the sandpaper will be available for students to use    NOTE:  The Antler and embellishments pieces are not included as in the photo.  If students are interested in these\, there will be some available for sale.
