Product Description
Tagua nut is a rainforest nut known as vegetable ivory for its likeness to animal ivory. These are seeds that grow in pods called cabezas, from the tagua nut palm tree.
Tagua nut ivory has been used for carvings, jewelry, boxes figurines and buttons since the time of Queen Victoria. The hole seed can also be used as beads for necklaces and bracelets.
The Tagua nut has great possibilities for the powercarver . It carves easily, without grain problems and sands and polishes to a satin luster. No finish is applied, except for final buffing with 0000 steel wool and wax.
Large nuts measure 1-3/" (45mm) - 2-1/4" (57mm) long
Price is per Tagua nut, size and shapes vary
